red wine.
Tip
• Cold-extracted tannin.
• Limited reactivity with proteins.
Application: Immediately prior to bottling to enhance aromatics and
refine structure.
How to Create a
1% Tannin Solution for Bench Trials
Recommended Dosage:
Refining red wine: 0.08 – 0.84 lb/1,000 gal (1–10 g/hL)
1. Create a 13% alcohol solution of a neutral spirit or grain alcohol (vodka, Everclear, etc.)
and distilled water.
At bottling: 0.08–0.43 lb/1,000 gal (1–5 g/hL)
Packaging: 1 kg packet.
To prepare 100mL of 13% alcohol solution: if using a neutral spirit with 40% alcohol/volume,
combine 33mL of neutral spirit and 67mL of distilled water.
2. Add 1g of tannin to 100mL of the 13% alcohol solution.
