The Science Behind The Craft
ATPGroup was founded as a small family business in 1991 with just four people selling a single
product. That product, tartaric acid, gave us our original name of American Tartaric Products,
which was later changed to ATPGroup to reflect our ever-growing portfolio of products and
services. From those humble beginnings, we are proud to have reached the exciting milestone
of 30 years in business in 2021.
Over the years we have experienced growth and transformation, but our core mission of
providing solutions and adding value to the wine industry has not changed. Our team of industry
experts is passionate about guiding our customers through the array of innovations, products,
practices, and services being introduced to the wine industry on a regular basis. From innovative
yeasts that can be added directly to the tank without rehydrating, to revolutionary filters that
combine rotating dynamic plates and crossflow technology, to integrated control systems that
allow winemakers to manage the entire vinification and aging process from a mobile phone,
ATPGroup is at the forefront of this modernization.
Recent years have been challenging for many in the wine industry, across the U.S., and around
the world as we have faced wildfires, evacuations, power outages, global pandemics, and
political uncertainty. Throughout it all ATPGroup has not missed a single day of business
and has remained open to ensure ongoing and uninterrupted support for our customers.
With warehouses and offices located in all of the major U.S. wine-producing regions, we
have developed an Emergency Action Plan that enables us to quickly pivot our operations as

needed, ensuring continuity of our business and yours. Our longstanding and diverse supplier
relationships have helped us to not only maintain consistent inventory levels of the products
you need, but also to bring in timely new products such as smoke taint solutions and cleaning/
sanitizing programs designed specifically for wineries.
None of this would be possible without the loyalty and support we have received from you, our
