FILTRATION MEDIA
BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine Cartridges
BECO® Standard Range Depth Filtration Sheets
Constructed using robust polyethersulfone membrane material, polypropylene
support fleeces to protect the membrane, and a polypropylene cage and
core to ensure maximum mechanical stability. Can be used together with the
BECO PROTECT® FS Pre-Filter Cartridges, which pre-filter the wine ensuring
superior protection and maximized throughput for the BECO® MEMBRAN PS.
Developed to meet demanding liquid filtration requirements. Product range
covers retention grades between 5.0 and 0.2 microns. Matrix formed of finely
fibrillated charged cellulose fibers.
• Asymmetric polyethersulfone membrane provides high microbiological retention and reliable
integrity testing.
• Economical sheet life due to high solids holding capacity.
• Ideal pore structure for reliable retention of separated solids.
• Highest quality raw materials guarantee high clarification performance.
• High microbiological retention rates due to defined pore matrix.
• High filter area (25.2 ft2 per 30”) cartridge along with the asymmetric membrane structure
offers high flow rates and outstanding service life.
BECOPAD® RANGE Depth Filtration Pads
• Special design allows for 72.5 psi (5 bar) differential pressure in the direction of flow and
29 psi (2 bar) differential pressure in reverse to support maximum throughputs.
Biodegradable mineral-free (no D.E. or perlite) depth filtration media containing
only purified cellulose fiber. Characterized by unparalleled purity when
compared with conventional filter sheets. With very low extractable ions, pads
will not impart any undesirable taste in your product.
• High thermal stability allows more than 100 steam sterilization cycles and hot water
sanitation, max temp of 194°F.
• Broad chemical compatibility.
• Available in 0.45 and 0.65 um, code 7 and length of 30” (750 mm).
• Up to 20% greater through-puts compared to conventional filter sheets containing DE and
perlite due to BECOPAD®’s maximum backwash capability.
• Full maintenance of valuable flavor and color in wines.
• Flushing volume reduced by up to 50% compared to conventional filter sheets containing
DE and perlite.

BECO PROTECT FS Pre-Filter Cartridges
• Drip losses reduced by up to 99% compared to other media available in the market.
Innovative depth filtration cartridges with a unique design of specially pleated
polypropylene fleeces with a larger filter surface area and depth that supports
particle retention capacity. Used together with the BECO® MEMBRAN
PS Wine Cartridges, they pre-filter wine ensuring superior protection and
maximized throughput for the BECO® MEMBRAN PS Wine Cartridges.
• High thermal stability allows steam sterilization and hot water sanitation (max. temp 194°F).
• Red bayonet tip easily distinguishes it from final filter.
• Available in 0.5, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0μm, code 7 and length of 30” (750 mm).
• Full maintenance of valuable flavor and color in wines.
BECODISC® Stacked Disc Lenticular Filters
Characterized by maximum purity and comprised of the same mineral-free
depth filtration material as the BECOPAD®, they support a wide range of
applications including coarse and sterile filtration of all liquid media. Outer
edge is coated with polypropylen and sealed. Depending on the cartridge
type, a different number of stacked filter cells forms a cartridge unit. Precisely
fitting intermediate profile rings seal the space between filter cells. Cartridge
held together by three-part segmented stainless steel sleeve that ensures
excellent mechanical sealing and eliminates leakage.
•• Available in 12” diameter x 16 cell, providing 20.5 ft2 surface area.
•• Available in 16” diameter x 16 cell on special order.
